Winners of the ATCM National Awards 2016 announced at ceremony in Westminster
The Association of Town and City Management (ATCM) has announced the winners of their national awards 2016, which are a showcase for the achievements of Town Centre Managers,Local Authorities, Business Improvement Districts, community organisations, and place-making partnerships of all shapes and sizes across the UK & Ireland.
The winners of the seven awards categories are displayed below:
- Developing the Evening and Night-Time Economy : Sheffield City Council.
- Building a Sustainable Town or City Centre Community : Bloxwich Sustainable City orchard, Walsall Council.
- Business Improvement District of the Year : Cathedral Quarter BID, Derby.
- Campaigner of the Year : Simon Pitkeathley, Camden Town Unlimited.
- Digital Engagement : Mill Road Traders Association, supported by Cambridge City Council.
- Diversifying the Business Mix : The Independent Alternative, Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council.
- Inspirational Leader of the Year : Diane Mansell, Walsall Council.
Rotherham were also named the ATCM National Partnership of the Year 2016.
Shanaaz Carroll,Interim CEO of the ATCM said:
“The ATCM National Awards are instrumental in providing recognition for the valuable programmes and projects that are being delivered by dedicated professionals to improve our high streets and town and city centres. The overall standard of the entries this year was really high and has once again highlighted the quality and variety of projects that are being undertaken. T owin an ATCM National Award is a great achievement and recognition for the hard work, dedication and creativity that each person and each partnership has put in.”
